Black History Month Celebration 2022
“Last year I took a chance at nationals that could have been something frowned upon by many.
Often times I get told based on the color of my skin that I’m not black enough.
Often times my children get told based on the texture of their curls that they aren’t black enough.
Stigmatization is an everyday trial within the black community and I want my daughter to understand that even though she might not be in a community that is diverse, black girls come in all shades, sizes, hair textures, and we can all come together and love one another.
Many times black women feel competition is intimidating and we can’t all get together on one accord. So I took this opportunity to embrace each girl and personally reach out to each and every one of their mothers and let them soak in this moment.
Since we are beginning the month of black history and the month of love I challenge you to love each other a little more, and look beyond the physical but what’s within.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤” - @elementaryamerica3rdgrade ‘s mother Jovan

Skinstar Med Spa Named as a National Sponsor

The Miss High School America Pageant is excited to announce SkinStar Laser MedSpa as a national sponsor for the 2022 national pageants. The 2022 national winners will win an amazing prize package from SkinStar of Little Rock.
SkinStar Laser MedSpa is your single destination for all your body treatment needs. You'll always receive the most comprehensive and innovative procedures available, all in the tranquil beauty of our eco-friendly medspa in Little Rock.

Botox and Injectables
If you would like to restore youthful fullness to your face, enjoy plump lips, enhance shallow contours or soften those facial creases and wrinkles, injectables may be the answer.
Skin Rejuvenation/Anti-Aging
Remove years from your appearance. No surgery required. With the revolutionary Fraxel restore laser treatment, you can get remarkable results you can see and feel.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal works as the light wavelength from the laser is absorbed by germinative cells that produce hair in the follicle. The follicle is heated and the germinative cells are destroyed. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle, while the system’s ChillTip helps protect the skin by conductive cooling during the laser energy delivery.

Thermage Skin Tightening
Thermage is a safe, non-invasive procedure that’s clinically proven to help tighten and contour your skin. Its unique deep-heating technology stimulates and renews your own collagen, resulting in tighter, smoother skin. Thermage is completely non-invasive – no surgery or injections. Unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and tones. The procedure is typically performed in a single session. And there’s little to no downtime – so you can quickly resume your normal routine.

Liposonix
Liposonix is a tailored approach that works. Liposonix is a safe, non-surgical and non-invasive approach to getting your ideal shape. In the battle to look your best, there's nothing more frustrating than that stubborn "last inch" you're trying to shed - especially around your waistline. The Custom Contouring™ capabilities of the Liposonix® System target and eliminate fat around your waist - in your abdomen and in the dreaded love handles - to help noticeably slim your waistline. A revolutionary treatment using high-intensity focused ultrasound to treat and eliminate stubborn fat.

Vein Treatment
CoolGlide® Laser Removal of Unwanted, Unsightly Blood Vessels on the Face, Legs and Other Part of the Body. Cutera CoolGlide® laser treatment is a safe, fast, gentle and effective method for removal of unwanted blood vessels.

Kybella
Are you experiencing dissatisfaction with the appearance of a "double chin" on you're facial profile? The excess fat in this area of the lower face is challenging to target with diet and exercise, and while surgical procedures were often the best solutions for correcting this aesthetic condition in the past, SkinStar Laser MedSpa patients can now enjoy tighter, firmer contours underneath their chins with safe, nonsurgical Kybella treatments.

People to People Ambassador Program and Miss Collegiate America

As part of her prize package, Miss Collegiate America 2014, Megan Gordon, traveled to India during her winter break this year with People to People Ambassador Programs.  When asked what was the highlight of her trip, Gordon said she had to  name a top 5.

"Top 5 highlights of my trip? Wowza! Where do I begin???,” said Gordon.

"Well here goes,

5) Being greeted with "Leis of Marigold” upon our arrival. In the Indian culture, the colors of the flowers on the lei signify good luck, courtesy, and happiness.

4) Flying kites with one of the young gentleman at the school we visited on our "Service in India” day

3) Riding camels through the village in which we helped clean the streets!

2) Shopping in Jaipur (The Pink City), it truly was such a magical place…very colorful and full of life!

1) Walking into the Taj Mahal!!!!!! I remember thinking to myself, "wait, isn’t this one of the 7 wonders of the world??” I still can’t believe I experienced that once in a lifetime event.

Someone asked me did I feel prepared once I got to India and to be honest, I truly believe that you can never fully prepare yourself for those life-altering moments. Traveling to India was one of those moments for me. So, I felt comfortable. But, as far as feeling completely prepared, there’s no way I could have been because everyday brought such thrilling and eye-opening surprises and experiences. "~ Gordon

MHSA and MCA Named in TOP 5 Scholarship Pageants
Miss High School America and Miss Collegiate America Named in TOP 5 by Pageant Planet

The Miss High School America and Miss Collegiate America were two of the top 5 named by Pageant Planet as top scholarships programs in the pageant industry.

Highlights from the article:

"2 out of our 5 are owned by the same company so we are putting them under one category. One of the great things about the Collegiate program is that graduate school counts! The winner receives a $10,000 scholarship among some other amazing prizes. Even though this program is relatively new, it’s very competitive.

The High School winner receives a scholarship in addition to a winter break trip with People to People. The program is growing really quickly and I think it says a lot about the opportunities, the competition experience and how organized the event is!

If you haven’t heard of this program before, find out if there is a state event coming up. The national pageant is held in July in Orlando, and you can expect state pageants to be held in the late summer, fall and winter."

The top 5 were named and here they are!
#1 Miss America
#2 & 3 Miss High School America and Miss Collegiate America
#4 Distinguished Young Women
#5 America's Outstanding Teen
